Marva Diaz is a public affairs and campaign professional with nearly three decades of experience in California politics. She has worked extensively with leaders across the political spectrum and specializes in the intersection of policy and politics, effecting change on the local and statewide levels by utilizing issue advocacy and campaign tactics.
Diaz is the owner and Publisher of the California Target Book, a political data thinktank, and the founder of Marva Diaz Strategies, a public affairs and government relations firm with clients in both the public and private sectors. She is a full-service campaign and communications consultant specializing in legislative and ballot measure campaigns, issue advocacy, fundraising and strategic communications.
Prior to launching her businesses, Diaz managed the political affairs program for a prominent business association and has collaborated on over 600 campaigns in multiple states ranging from internal corporate campaigns to ballot propositions to legislative campaigns. She has worked extensively with leaders across the political spectrum, including labor unions across the United States and consulting for the New Democrats.
Diaz served as a legislative leadership staffer in the California State Capitol for over a decade. She has held a number of positions within the Legislature including Deputy Director to the Speaker, Chief of Staff to both progressive and moderate Democratic legislators, consultant to multiple caucuses, and continues to serve as an advisor to legislative leadership and legislators.
